LIBRARY/RESOURCE CENTRE
Our school library/resource centre is a collection of books (fiction and non-fiction), several subscriptions to monthly magazines, subscriber to local, daily newspaper, and a small audio visual collection. It serves the staff, students (Years 7, 8 and 9), ancillary/support staff, and an occasional parent/guardian in our small accommodations.
An orientation session is catered to the incoming new students by tutorial groups each year. This is done to inform the students of library rules and to direct them in the location of the library/resource centre.
Each half-term a schedule is provided for subject classes to visit during the school day. Accommodations for classes of 28 students will be comfortable.
The facility is not electronically automated and all researching, processing of materials, and circulations are done manually.
As the library/resource centre is available to its users we would like to know that they recognize the vast amount of information that is stored within the walls and that they have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use the information effectively.
The library/resource centre is staffed by native, Mrs. R. Rankin, as teacher/librarian.
